Matteo d'Amico has always wanted to form a band. He had been playing music for a long time already and had always loved jazz because of his family who would always listen to it, he had therefore the project of getting together with other young musicians to play all kinds of music based on jazz. His dream finally came true when he,
Blaise Bersinger (whom he knew thanks to the Banda, which is Lausanne’s Jazz orchestra) and
Lionel Wilhelm, his childhood friend created what was to be Jazz’fixie (it wasn’t called like that yet, the name changed a couple of times). They started by playing jazz standards and a couple of other musicians came but didn’t stay for long until
Luca Delacrétaz arrived and Jazz’fixie was complete. Jazz’fixie now plays songs composed by its musicians and they’ve already recorded a short CD that you can listen and download
here.
