Jazz'fixie
Matteo d'Amico has always wanted to form a band. He had been playing music for a long time already and had always loved jazz because of his family who would always listen to it, he had therefore the project of getting together with other young musicians to play all kinds of music based on jazz. His dream finally came true when he, Blaise Bersinger (whom he knew thanks to the Banda, which is Lausanne’s Jazz orchestra) and Lionel Wilhelm, his childhood friend created what was to be Jazz’fixie (it wasn’t called like that yet, the name changed a couple of times). They started by playing jazz standards and a couple of other musicians came but didn’t stay for long until Luca Delacrétaz arrived and Jazz’fixie was complete. Jazz’fixie now plays songs composed by its musicians and they’ve already recorded a short CD that you can listen and download here.
Matteo D'Amico
(trombone)
Matteo, on the trombone, is the creator of Jazz'fixie. His many musical influences and his enthusiasm to jam during gigs bring a rich diversity to the band : Making most important decisions minutes before if not during the concert, he often suprises the audience. (and the band!)
Basil Reinhard
(saxophone)
Basil is the latest member of the band. He enlarged Jazz'fixie's range of influence by bringing new ideas and especially with his uncommon improvising methods : a brilliant mixture of academic knowledge and mad improvisation.
Lionel Wilhelm
(piano)
Lionel, main composer of the band is also great on improvising and solos. He has been a member of the band since it's beginning and does most of the technical work on songs after their recording. He is now a physics major in high school.
Blaise Bersinger
(drums)
Blaise Bersinger, or the metronome of Jazz'fixie who prevents the rest of the band from having wild tempos when jamming, is not only a drummer but also a humorist, playing for the local improv team.
